Summit def. Franklin, 3-2

The Lady Spartans have found a groove of late and held off Franklin at home with a 21-25, 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 15-11 District 12-AAA win Tuesday in Spring Hill.

Summit has won 13 of 15 matches, including three straight district contests to improve to 3-6 in league standings and in the mix behind top-ranked Brentwood.

"Our effort and focus has become more consistent but there is still more upside to our play," Lady Spartan coach Warne Riker said. "Overall, I'm pleased to get the win tonight against a team that defeated us earlier this season and is tough to match up for us."

Franklin won 3-1 on Aug. 28 at home. Julie Keener led the Lady Rebels with 14 kills and 15 digs. Maddie McGaha added eight kills, Jillian Amsler came up with six kills and six blocks, while Kennedy Smith set 26 assists to go with nine digs for Franklin (3-6).
